As you follow the path from Killorglin, out past Bally Kissane Monument, and further round the bay to Inch Beach, the landscape changes and the dunes become dominant.

Swathes of windswept sand, dune grasses harsh against your feet, the golden sands soft between your toes. The wilderness of sand dunes never fails to captivate me.

At first it all looks similar, and then you look in more detail. The colours, the textures, the sights and sounds transport you.
