Scottish Mountains at end of the day
I wonder if there is anything more dramatic and yet providing of a more comforting embrace than the Scottish mountains at the end of the day?
The pregnant heaviness of the dark gathered clouds in the already oversaturated sky all set and ready to unleash a torrent of rain onto the land. The heaviness of the clouds felt like a heavy woollen blanket. Hand stitched with love and ready to envelop me in its embrace. A blanket of rain across the land protecting us from the dramas in the skies above. Keeping me safe from whatever was on the other side.
Rich blues infused with earth tones set the scene for this as once again a local bothy gave me shelter from the storm as I painted.
