Dartmoor. One of our most beautiful national parks here in the UK.

With its wild, open moorlands and deep river valleys, its rich history and rare wildlife, it truly is one of the most unique places on earth. And it’s a place I love to visit and paint.

In this painting I gathered together my oils, trusty palette and board and headed out as the clouds were gathering in the sky in readiness for nightfall.

What nature shared with me was the soft gentleness at sun down. A mystical and ethereal time as day turns to night.
