Sardinia is one of my go-to overseas travel favourites.

A large and mountainous Italian island in the Mediterranean Sea, with over 1,800km of coastline, deep turquoise waters, and white-sand beaches. The island is also dotted with Nuraghi. These are unique, bronze-age stone structures and well worth a visit.

However, it’s the white-sand beaches, lapped by the turquoise seas that I am drawn to for my paintings. Here the colours are different to those at home. Sunset pinks, the green of the dune grasses, the deep blue of the sea and the clean calm colour of the sand.
